“I’m too old.”
“I’m too fat.”
"I'm too skinny."
"I'm not curvy enough."
"I'm not brave like those other women."
“I’m not photogenic.”
“I have no one to give photos to.”
These are some of my favorite (read: sarcasm) reasons why women don’t consider boudoir. Usually we let our minds tell us all of the reasons why we can't do something rather than all of the reasons we SHOULD do something. Instead of all of those barriers, what if you challenged every negative thought that popped into your head with something positive?
"I'll never be this young again."
"My body is mine, and it's beautiful."
"I am BEAUTIFUL."
"I'm doing this for my DAMN self."
I think the real reason women get held up by the thought of boudoir is the fear of the unknown. Boudoir sessions can be incredibly powerful, but to get to that power you have to allow yourself to be vulnerable and brave. The key to that is choosing a photographer that you trust and that you vibe with. Admittedly, the hardest part of a session is deciding you want to DO a session because before you've done one you won't really know what to expect. By including hair and makeup with a professional hair and makeup artist, a client closet big enough to clothe a super sexy army, we're eliminating two of the biggest stressors that come with a session. You get to walk in, sit down, and grab a drink while I pull outfit options (tons) that I think will suit your shape, your skin tone, and your session goals and Kitt or Allie give you a perfectly polished look. I'll walk you through my posing tips and demonstrate every pose for you. Then you get to do it and look way better than I will in my leggings, oversized shirt, and messy bun lol.
My goal is to always be the professional that understand the bravery my clients are showing and to match that with technical and emotional professionalism while also providing a fun experience to help everyone feel at ease. When you walk in to your session at Happy Hour Boudoir, whether we're in the Boise, Idaho studio or literally anywhere else we can do a destination session, I've got you! We'll laugh, we'll arch, and we'll spend the day celebrating you.
